How much do you tip your colorist and your stylist?

I went to Toni & Guy and had my hair colored a solid color (no highlighting) by one person. Then I had my hair cut and dried by another person. My total bill was $113 (no products purchased). How much would you tip each girl?
I tipped the colorist $12 and the stylist $8. I suppose I should have asked how much each individual one was! I just don’t want to be cheap.
Nicole25, $15 each would be $30 total, and 20% of 113 is actually only $22.
i have a question about tipping a hair stylist?

My wife just got her hair cut by a stylist and she paid 60 dollars, then she tipped her 10. Its been a week and she is unhappy with her hair. She called and they will re-cut it at no charge. They said it’s included in the price. Does she have to re-tip her? If so, how much.
In America, do you have to tip your barber or hair stylist?

Do employees in hair salons and barber shops work sloely on tips or do they get a base salary?
What if you’re a guy and you’re just getting a very basic (10-minute) hair cut, as opposed to a girl who’s getting a perm that lasts for hours?
I want to leave a tip whenever it’s customary, but sometimes I feel awkward giving a tip if it’s not expected to do so.
Do you tip a stylist who works out of her own home?

I thought her price was already a little expensive but if she’s not paying booth rental do I need to add another $6-$10 onto her price? Advice please…
I am just going in for a hair cut. No color.
I’m trying to find a hair stylist in or around Humble, Conroe, Livingston, TX? Tips?

I want to get my hair colored and cut for Holiday pictures at a decent price. I like up-to-date styles and coloring, gearing towards the young adult. I’d love any suggestions.
Is it customary to give tips in hair salons here in Singapore? How much?

I’m going to have my hair cut in Singapore the first time in a high end salon. I read before that tipping in Singapore is not the norm, but I’m not sure if that’s also true for hair salons (especially Passion). Should I give tip to the “leading stylist”? How about the person who shampooed/dry my hair? If yes, how much should I give? Is it based on percentage?
Thanks.
Any tips for someone who’s never been to a hair stylist?

Okay, so since I’ve been 10 I think I’ve had the same hair cut. I just let it grow and I have kind of a shaggy thing going on for it.
I’m told by girls constantly that I could do great things with my hair. Problem is I’m not inventive in the least. I want a new hair style, but I wouldn’t even know where to start with finding one. Some of my friends want to drag me into a beauty shop, but being a straight guy… I dunno if I’m comfortable anywhere outside of your good old barber shop. (It’s a gender thing I know)
Anyway, anyone have any tips for finding a hair stylist, and finding the right style for me?
What are some tips for giving a toddler a hair cut?

Tips on doing it yourself or going to a barber would be greatly appreciated. If I go to a stylist I have to hold my 1 year old and we both end up covered in hair. If I do it myself it doesn’t look horrible but it doesn’t look great, on the plus side he is the only one covered in hair. I can’t clip a towel around his neck because he will rip it off.
How much should you tip a hair stylist for a cut and highlight?

I don’t have very much hair, very fine, thin and short. It only takes about 45-mins to 1 hour to completely finish. Last time she charged $54.00 for everything including the shampooing.
