are you a hair stylist - excluding tips, how much do you make an hour? What city do you work in? And how long did it take you to become one? and are you happy with your profession?

I tip 20% but sometimes depending on what I get done it can get a bit pricey. I have always wondered if stylists need to be tipped 20% as well.

I am trying to find a good school. I’ve heard of empire does anyone know if its any good? Or any other schools you know about in the philadelphia area would be great help. Is anyone currently working as a hair stylist with any tips for me?

Tips on doing it yourself or going to a barber would be greatly appreciated. If I go to a stylist I have to hold my 1 year old and we both end up covered in hair. If I do it myself it doesn’t look horrible but it doesn’t look great, on the plus side he is the only one covered in hair. I can’t clip a towel around his neck because he will rip it off.

i need tips on finding a new hair stylist! my current one hasnt really given me what i wanted the past few times and… its just not working for me haha. how do i find out if the stylist has like… my style i guess? or, will understand what i want from him/her? any tips on making it clearer what i want? any advise is appreciated
